For our math final project we were asked to read a book related to math. When we heard of Math Curse while in our own ELD class, we decided to use this for our project. We wanted to make this an interactive read aloud for our students and also something that could be hands on. Not only did we want to introduce the math ideas and concepts, but we wanted to show how much fun reading could be as well. This was one of the first texts they read that was on the longer side. Even the students realized this but they still said that it was so funny and they want to take it home to show their families. The manipulatives we made were in relation to the character's problems in the book. The students were all able to do at least one activity from the book and figure out the answers. This book is made to be interactive with a class and already has questions to ask everyone while reading it.
